I was born and raised in Iowa. After high school, I joined the Air Force. I retired as a civil service employee of the Illinois Air National Guard in January of 2002. My occupation involved working as an aircraft mechanic for 23 years and a quality assurance aircraft inspector for seven years. In April of 2002, I retired from my military position with the Illinois Air National Guard, serving eight years on active duty and 29 years with the Air Guard. I worked at a funeral home for a year assisting with funerals. In October of 2003, my wife Bev and I moved to Washington to be near family. I missed being active and a working so I applied for a part-time position in the maintenance department at Summer Hill. I began working in January of 2005 and was offered the opportunity to be Maintenance Director in March of 2006. I enjoy working at Summer Hill with the staff as we make available an attractive and safe environment for the residents of Summer Hill. Each day offers a variety of work and creates challenges. However, observing the appreciative and friendly residents provides satisfaction. My wife Bev and I recently celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary. We are blessed with three daughters, three son-in laws, four grandsons and two granddaughters. I am participating in a Lay Ministry program over the internet and am active in my church. I enjoy spoiling the grandchildren, traveling, and visiting family and friends. My hobbies include fishing, golfing and reading. |
