Patty Young, PCA Coordinator

I am the PCA Coordinator here at Summer Hill Assisted Living. I began working here in December of 1998 as a Nurse’s Aid. In 2005, my job transitioned to include clerical support for all departments, and in February of 2006 I moved into the position I currently enjoy.

It has been an outstanding learning experience, and I enjoy the diversity my job involves. The absolute best part of each day is the interaction with residents and family members and knowing I am part of a team that brings them the quality of life they so well deserve!

I was born and raised a “Navy brat.” When I was a teenager, my father retired from the Navy and we settled here on Whidbey Island, which had been his last duty station. The military also brought my husband, Robert, from Jacksonville, Florida. He left the Marine Corps after four years and we too decided to settle and raise our family here on Whidbey.

We have been married for 20 years and have two children, Nathan 14, and Morgan, 12. In our spare time you will find us out on the ball fields watching our kids play baseball and softball, jamming with our church worship band, or enjoying the sunset on one of our beautiful beaches.
